Amanda Windred is a talented opera singer with a career that spans over a decade. She has performed in a variety of productions with esteemed companies and conductors, including the the Miami Music Festival, Opera Australia, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Amanda’s performances have been met with critical acclaim, and she has been a finalist in several prestigious singing competitions, including the Sydney Eisteddfod Operatic Aria Scholarship.
Amanda’s opera career began in 2009 when she played the role of Florence Pike in Albert Herring with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She continued to perform with the conservatory, taking on roles in Orphée aux Enfers and Die Zauberflöte. In 2011, she became a Pacific Opera Australia Young Artist and performed the role of Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti.
In 2011, Amanda earned her Advanced Diploma of Opera from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and her Graduate Diploma in 2012. Amanda was accepted into the Lisa Gasteen National Opera School where she performed in a range of concerts and recitals. In 2013, she earned a Master’s in Music Studies (Opera) from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University and performed the role of Marcellina in Le noze di Figaro.
In 2014, she was a finalist in the Sydney Eisteddfod Operatic Aria Scholarship and played the role of Zweite Magd in Elektra with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
In 2015, Amanda also covered the title role of Turandot with Opera Australia as well as being a semi-finalist in the Elizabeth Connell Prize for Young Dramatic Sopranos, a finalist in the Sydney Eisteddfod Operatic Aria Scholarship and the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera and Arts Support Group.
In 2016, Amanda travelled to Miami to perform as Mrs. Grose in Turn of the Screw with the Miami Music Festival.
Throughout her career, Amanda has also performed as a soloist in various concerts, including with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Brisbane City Council Wagner Concert. She continues to mesmerise audiences with her stunning acting and vocal performances.
